Following the motion by Joost Sneller and Femke Zeedijk-Raeven which passed in the House of Representatives in 2024 to develop a proposal for the steward company, N-EXTLAW’s Nena van der Horst, along with Emilie van Blokland, Rutger Marres, Sophie Kuijpers, Casper Nagtegaal, Jorick Wijnen, Melanie Rieback, Gijsbert Koren have been working on the principles for a steward company. To make Europe’s economy more competitive and sustainable at the same time, we call for a new industrial policy for ‘sustainable by design’ organizations in order to reap the competitive benefits of ownership forms that favor reinvestment, innovation and resilience.
