N-EXTLAW’s Kinanya Pijl will be giving a presentation today on ‘Participation by affected stakeholders in the context of banks’ corporate lending business’ as part of the Erasmus School of Law workshop ‘In good company: Participatory rights of stakeholders as a public interest’.

This workshop explores to what extent businesses should take into account human rights as a public interest, with a particular focus on the right to participation, considering the influence of multinational companies on shaping the regulatory environments in which they conduct their business.

The panellists will be focusing on participation as part of a human rights approach, discussing questions such as to what extent can human rights provide a basis for the elaboration of participatory structures and what should be the obligations of companies in this regard?
